The majority of individuals trading commodity futures, lose in the markets with monotonous regularity.
The reason for this is that the professional traders and trading firms have the overwhelming advantage and take large profits from the markets every day.
These firms and individuals who are trading futures for a living have always had the resources to afford the computing power and specialist programming skills to create and test their systems thoroughly. Because of this, they have gradually learned the techniques that bring the biggest returns for the lowest risk.
It has been anything but a level playing field and up against this elite group, the individual trader stood no chance.
Jokes about losing commodity traders are ten a penny but make no mistake, the privileged minority who cream off the markets every day are laughing for a different reason.

It was a revelation to me when I realized that computing power and good software were the keys to success - by enabling traders to introduce scientific method into their trading.
By this time, cheap computing power was there for everyone - but the individual trader, trading his own money, was still not getting his share of the profits. Why was this?
It was because no suitable trading software was available on public sale and also because sound trading knowledge was still sadly lacking.
Such obvious deficiencies could not remain completely unnoticed and it was no surprise when VeriTrader was released in 2003.
